B. Blake Levitt and Chellis Glendinning -March 18, 2011
"How is it that so many intelligent, inside-the-beltway environmentalists are buying into an eco-health-safety-finance debacle with the potential to increase energy consumption, endanger the environment, harm public health, diminish privacy, make the national utility grid more insecure, cause job losses, and make energy markets more speculative?
Answer: by not doing their homework.
Welcome to the Smart Grid -- a government-funded money machine capable of intruding into every aspect of our lives.
...On the surface, Smart Grids sound 'green' -- with promises of saving energy, creating new power-line corridors run on wind and solar, way-stations to power-up electric vehicles, energy-efficient upgrades to an aging power infrastructure, and real-time customer knowledge of electricity use.
...But few who actually study how these new systems function want anything to do with them. Other than those who stand to make enormous profits and the physicists or engineers who dream up such stuff, Smart Grids are giving knowledgeable people the willies . . ."
PG&E Will Offer Analog Meters for Opt-Out
CPUC rules that only one option will be available for opting out
"The California Public Utility Commission ruled today that Pacific Gas & Electric customers that do not want smart meters could pay to have an analog meter. The long-awaited vote is being watched by other states, although California is not the first to formalize its smart meter opt-out plans..."
Common Knowledge by Jeffry Fawcett, PhD
"making the health damage caused by wireless technologies common knowledge"
"...Last week, the Health Officer of Santa Cruz County California submitted a report to the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors reporting on the health risks of SmartMeters. The report finds that the scientific literature on health effects from wireless technologies supports the continued moratorium on SmartMeter installations on public health grounds. The Santa Cruz report is not a watershed event in the way that the US Surgeon Generals 1964 report on smoking was. Nevertheless, it is continued progress in making the health damage caused by wireless technologies common knowledge..."

Among men the number of brain tumours have increased by 40% between 2001 and 2010 (per 100 000 inhabitants, age standardised) and among women by 29%..."
A report on cell phones by Environment & Human Health published January 2012
What are the potential health issues associated with cellular telephone use? Whether it's the increased use of cell phones by children, or the overall increase in cell phone use by adults, human exposure to electromagnetic radiation is happening in ways never dreamed of before. Very young children are using them, teenagers live on them--and some even sleep with them on their pillows, as cell phones are often used as alarm clocks...
Cell Phone Report Calls for More Responsible Management to Protect Children and Pregnant Women
A review of a report calling for more responsible management to protect children and pregnant women
Environment and Human Health, Inc. (EHHI) today released a new report calling for tougher
standards to regulate cellular technologies--especially for children and pregnant women.
North Haven, Conn. (PRWEB) February 01, 2012
-- Environment and Human Health, Inc. (EHHI) is releasing
a new report calling for tougher standards to regulate cellular technologies--especially for children and
pregnant women. This report is the first part of a project researching the health effects of cell phone use. EHHI
has reviewed hundreds of peer-reviewed studies that have examined the potential health threats associated with
cellular device use, along with the regulatory standards that have been adopted by the U.S. and other nations.
This report provides the context for the second section of the project: an animal study designed to investigate
the health effects on offspring of cell phone exposures during pregnancy...

Wi-Fi Radiation Levels in Classrooms Exceed Levels Near Cell Towers
Kawartha Safe Technology Initiative (KSTI) Update on WiFi in Schools
"Kawartha Safe Technology Initiative (KSTI) provide an update on the issue and concerns surrounding Wi-Fi in their local schools.
KSTI strongly opposed the planned implementation of Wi-Fi in schools since we first became aware of the plan in June 2010. Despite parental protests, and written warnings from medical experts, the KPR District School Board (KPR) forged ahead and installed Wi-Fi in all schools...A recent KSTI investigation has revealed that Wi-Fi radiation levels in many KPR classrooms exceed radiation levels recorded within 100m of large cell towers. This is very concerning due to the fact that numerous health studies indicate higher incidences of poor health in people who live within 400 m of a large cell tower..."
Press Release - The Federal NDP establish an Electrosensitivity Registry
Reported by SEMO, Save our children from microwave dangers
"The ongoing debate in Canada regarding health consequences of involuntary and unremitting exposure to microwave emissions coming from "smart" meters, cell phone base station antennas, wifi, etc., has elicited many personal reports from those suffering electrosensitivity. Many citizen groups and associations, having received such reports, hope that these will not have been in vain and will contribute to ongoing follow-up on these matters in Ottawa...Registry of persons whose health has been affected by devices using wireless microwave technologies Creation of this Registry is a concrete response to one of 5 recommendations contained in the Report of the Standing Committee on Health, which examined the impact of microwaves on health (Report submitted December 2010).Charmaine Borg, MP, designated by the NDP caucus as responsible for this dossier in Ottawa, has agreed to receive submissions from people suffering from this condition..."
