Humour

This issue, at its core, is a far-reaching and serious one, overwhelming in its scope.  Therefore, it doesn't hurt to smile. Laughter and a sense of humour are powerful motivators, and heartening educational and reflective tools.

"The Hydro Man Can" (Rally Song)

Lyrics and chords for Smart Meter Rally Song sung to the tune of "The Candy Man"

The Hydro Man Can (to be sung to the tune of The Candy Man)

Who can take your meter, make it wireless,
Dirty up your current and then claim it's for the best?
The Hydro Man . . . the Hydro Man can.
The Hydro Man can, 'cause he mixes it with things that make you think it tastes good.

Who can take a family, wrap them in a fog . . .
Of radiated frequencies we call electrosmog?
The Hydro Man . . . the Hydro Man can.
The Hydro Man can, 'cause he mixes it with things That make you think it tastes good . . .

Smart Meters in Our Town (rally song)

original lyrics set to the tune of Ghost Riders in the Sky

Smart Meters in Our Town (to be sung to the tune of "Ghost Riders in the Sky"

"Yippieyayaaay, Yippieyiohhhhh!" Smart meters in our town . . .

A Corix man went ridin' out one chilly autumn day.
With list in hand, within his truck he went along his way,
When all at once a quiet bunch of analogues he spied
Mounted on the houses . . . He stopped his truck and sighed . . ."

Hitler Rants about BC Hydro Smart Meters

subtitles from "Downfall" reconfigured for "Smart Meter" issue

This is another in a series of "Hitler Rants" parodies that take this scene from the movie "Downfall" (Der Untergang) and redo the subtitles. This one deals with the Smart Meter issue . . .

"Poor Hitler has met his match with another dunderheaded policy implemented by the BC Liberal Government. Will it never end?

"BC Hydro is careening on ahead with their smart meter program in spite of the objections of numerous BC homeowners. The BC Clean Air Act allows for the initiative continue without the watchful oversight of the BC Utilities Commission. The case is before the BC Information and Privacy Commissioner, but BC Hydro must forge on without waiting for the outcome of that review. Another initiative courtesy of the BC Liberal Government.

"In British Columbia, call Corix Utilities today and tell them you don't want their "Smart" meter: 1-888-495-2767
